The performance of Mr Caffrey (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, beaten by 48¼ lengths, was considered.
Cillin Leonard reported that the gelding was never travelling; the representative of Dr Richard Newland explained that Mr Caffrey (GB) was unsuited by the Soft going on this occasion and would be better suited by less testing conditions.
