A query was raised to consider why Nigel Tinkler was running Archie Perkins (IRE) here at Pontefract on going described as Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Redcar on 23 September 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The representative of the trainer stated that they had opted to run at Pontefract as there was less rain forecast and were happy for the gelding to take its chance today due to limited opportunities in the remainder of the season.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Iconic Choice (GB), placed fourth, lost its right-hind shoe.
