Permission was given for Tanganyika (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after jumping the last hurdle in the back straight involving HONNEUR D’AJONC (FR), which was pulled up, ridden by David Noonan, Call Of The Wild (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tom Cannon, Vision Des Flos (FR), which was pulled up, ridden by Freddie Gingell, and the winner, Itso Fury (IRE), ridden by James Smith.
Harry Cobden, the rider of Killaloan (IRE), placed third, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
The interference was found to be accidental as jumping the hurdle Noonan’s mount began to weaken while Cannon and Gingell were travelling strongly into the gap on Noonan’s right-hand side, causing Cannon and Gingell to become momentarily short of room between Noonan and Smith.
Following the race, Joe Tizzard's representative reported that Vision Des Flos (FR), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the going on this occasion, officially described as Soft, Good to Soft in places, and would benefit from a quicker surface.
