Kieran O'Neill, the rider of Storm Melody (GB), drawn 2, was slow to remove the blindfold.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, O’Neill’s explanation that he had anticipated the stalls opening but when another rider had called out to the Starter not to start the race due to his mount rearing in the stalls, it caused O’Neill to hesitate momentarily in removing the blindfold from Storm Melody (GB) when the start was effected shortly afterwards, was noted.
