J.J. Burke, rider of Tiger Bay Lady, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount felt lame on pulling up and was dismounted thereafter. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Tiger Bay Lady, trained by Peter Fahey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on the left fore. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Jo Go, trained by Mrs. C. O'Leary, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a shoe and to be lame on the right fore.

An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards, mares only (116 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 116 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 116 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 116 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
