Permission was given for Heatherdown Hero (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Nurseclaire (FR) arrived at the start with a small amount of blood in its mouth, having bitten its tongue.
After examination by the Veterinary Surgeon, the filly was deemed fit to race.
Inside the final furlong, the rider of Heatherdown Hero (GB), placed fifth, had to momentarily ease when placed awkwardly to the inside of Days Like This (GB), placed third, who had shifted slightly right-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Heatherdown Hero (GB) which started favourite and finished fifth, was considered.
Michael Bell could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that, a post-race examination of Heatherdown Hero (GB), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
