W.J. Lee, rider of Verhoyen (GB), trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount reared up and moved forward just as the gates began to open, forcing them open before the other gates. Having viewed a recording of the start and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Verhoyen derived no material advantage, and in fact lost ground as a result of this incident. Consequently, they were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
