Permission was given for Mofaaji (GB) to go early to post.

An enquiry was held following a report from an Equine Welfare Integrity Officer that she had observed an employee of Simon Crisford attempting to kick Mofaaji (GB) in the groin area when leading the colt out of the Stables.

The Equine Welfare Integrity Officer, the Veterinary Officer and Crisford’s employee were interviewed.

Crisford’s employee explained that the horse was extremely coltish in the racecourse stables and that the usual practice in this situation was to use cold water.

However, as there was no water in the immediate vicinity, he had attempted to kick the horse in order to bring him under control.

After hearing their evidence, Crisford’s employee was found guilty of acting in an aggressive manner towards Mofaaji (GB) and fined £200.

** Approximately 2 ½ furlongs out, the winner, Drummond Warrior (IRE), ducked left at the junction causing interference to Grisons (FR), placed second, and Peggotty (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Grisons (FR), placed second, hung left-handed and Trevor Whelan reported that DISEY’S EDGE, unplaced, ran green.
