The Stewards received a request from Garry Caldwell, trainer of Take A Chance On R, to substitute the nominated rider J.D. O'Neill, with J.M. Moore, as the rider was unable to ride at the correct weight. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion J.D. O'Neill was in breach of Rule 198 in that he was unable to ride at the correct weight, and having taken his record into account, they fined him ?150. Furthermore, they allowed the request to change the nominated rider.
