LUXIE is only pint-sized but according to trainer's son and representative Kris Weld "has a heart of a lion." The filly is a tough sort and will "go for another handicap next" according to Weld Jnr.

LAST EMPEROR hadn't shown much in three previous runs but ran a sound race here despite racing with a high head-carriage. This was only an average contest but the runner-up has the ability to win a similar race from his current mark.

ASEASYAS was the one to take out of the race following a staying on third. The filly ran well a few times last season and appears to stay quite well. She never looked like winning today but can win from her mark, possibly over a further trip.

FAIRYVILLE had shown nothing in four previous runs, was unruly when loading and while he ran fine, may need to improve further to win while GRA GEAL MO CHROI clipped heels entering the straight and unseated rider.
