It didn't look the strongest of contests and Le Citadel and Chasing Clouds disputed most of the way before turning it into a duel from over a furlong out.

Chasing Clouds looked to be edging matters approaching the furlong marker but Le Citadel refused to back down and responded well to Chris Hayes' urgings to get back in front on the line.

Luxie bounced smartly to lead but was soon tucked in behind the leaders. She had no more to offer from a furlong out, however, and kept on behind the front two.

Fascinating Paddy was the eyecatcher, finishing strongly to take fourth. He had only one behind passing the furlong marker and it took a while for the penny to drop before he got his act together.

Donard Lodge was last turning in but made nice headway to go fifth a furlong out. She failed to maintain the momentum, however, weakening again in the closing stages.

Mask Of Conspiracy (5/1 to 7/2) attracted some support but after tracking the leaders he faded from under two furlongs out.

Siamsa Sraide chased the leaders but faded tamely turning in and finished last.
