The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr L.J. McGuinness, rider of Nobody Home, presented to weigh out at 3 lbs overweight, none of which was declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had expected to put up 1lb overweight, but unfortunately he could only do 3 lbs overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the rider to weigh out at 3lbs overweight as the trainer had expressed his desire for the rider to carry the overweight in the circumstances. They were, however,satisfied that Mr. L.J NcGuinness was in breach of both Rule 195 and 198 and having taken his clean record into account, they issued a fine of €150
