Permission was given for Black Lightning (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference after jumping the last hurdle involving the winner, William Of York (GB), ridden by Tristan Durrell, and Sonnemoser (FR), placed second, ridden by Luke Scott.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved William Of York (GB)’s placing as the gelding always appeared to be holding Sonnemoser (FR), who appeared to lose minimal momentum, with the winning distance being half a length.
Durrell was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction, causing Sonnemoser (FR) to be taken off its intended line.
