An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run in, when the winner Ulverston (IRE) ridden by Sean Quinlan interfered with The Ferry Master (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ryan Mania, and La Chanteuse (IRE), placed third, ridden by Brian Hughes.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Ulverston (IRE) as the gelding had drifted right and interfered with La Chanteuse (IRE) and The Ferry Master (IRE) over a considerable length of time, causing La Chanteuse (IRE) to be continually short of room and bumped several times and for The Ferry Master (IRE) to be carried right for several strides.
Considering the distances of a short head and a neck between the runners, the Stewards deemed that the interference had improved the placing of Ulverston (IRE) and ordered the placings to be revised as follows: First - The Ferry Master (IRE), Second - La Chanteuse (IRE), Third - Ulverston (IRE).
Quinlan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right for a considerable amount of time causing interference to La Chanteuse (IRE) and The Ferry Master (IRE).
