It was a surprise as I thought the handicapper had him after the last day. He is a big, slow horse but jumps grand and that is a big help around here and with the rain we've had overnight, it was loose ground. He hasn't had much mileage on him and mightn't run again this year unless it came up soft or heavy.

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last fence involving Balkito (FR), ridden by E. Walsh and Sir Bob, ridden by P.T. Enright, where it appeared Balkito(FR) crossed Sir Bob. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise E. Walsh to react faster in a similar incident in future
