Permisson was given for Grey Galleon (USA) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post and for Lordsbridge Boy (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The winner, Be Prepared (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 7 April 2021, where the gelding finished seventh of nine, beaten by 6 ¾ lengths.
The explanation from the representative of John Bridger was noted that Be Prepared (GB) appreciated a return to turf and the drop back in trip from 7 furlongs to 6 furlongs, and also benefited from the first time application of a visor.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, SARAH’S VERSE, placed eighth, hung slightly left and whilst being corrected by it’s rider, shifted further left, carrying Biggles (GB), placed sixth, off it’s intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Spanish Star (IRE), placed second, hung right throughout.
