An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when the winner, Larry (GB), ridden by Jamie Moore, interfered with Gone Platinum (IRE), placed second, ridden by Lorcan Williams.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Larry (GB)’s placing as although Gone Platinum was taken off its intended line the gelding lost little to no momentum and Williams never had to stop riding, and Larry (GB) was always holding the second placed horse, with a neck between them at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Larry (GB) had lugged right-handed before being corrected by Moore.
Jamie Moore, the rider of the winner, Larry (GB), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from the final fence.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that El Terremoto (FR), unplaced, had lost both front shoes.
