Permission was given for On To Victory (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
The winner, Stargazer (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Haydock Park on 5 September 2020, where the gelding finished last of seventeen, beaten 20¼ lengths.
It was noted that Philip Kirby could offer no explanation for Stargazer (IRE)'s improved form other than the gelding had taken two runs to come to hand following a 509 day break.
Stargazer (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Hochfeld (IRE), placed fourth, lost its right-hind shoe.
