The Stewards interviewed C. Brassil, rider, in relation to him jumping a hurdle on the way to the start. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the reason this occurred was that he allowed his mount to jump a hurdle rather than turn her sharply left when leaving the chute. He accepted however that he was in breach of the rule and apologised for his actions.
