Following the race, Henry Brooke reported that the girth came undone on Gouet Des Bruyeres (FR), placed fourth, after the pin broke during the first circuit of the race.
After inspecting the broken equipment post-race, the Stewards considered that the failure could not have been predicted with the girth apparently being in a serviceable condition prior.
Therefore, they took no further action.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Iron Horse (GB), placed third, lost its left-fore shoe.
