An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 2 furlongs out when the winner, Espresso Freddo (IRE), ridden by Dane O’Neill, interfered with Vipin (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Georgia Cox.
O’Neill was cautioned for careless riding as he shifted right when insufficiently clear carrying Cox off her intended line and causing her to take a slight check.
The winner, Espresso Freddo (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Leicester on 23 September 2019 where the gelding finished ninth of thirteen, beaten by 11 lengths.
Robert Stephens’ explanation that the gelding was suited by a change of headgear from cheekpieces to a visor and the Good to Soft, Soft in places going on this occasion was noted.
Espresso Freddo (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Scoffsman (GB), placed seventh, ran too free.
