The Stewards interviewed Mr S.F. Magee, rider of News For Pascal, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr S. F. Magee in breach of Regulation 10 3(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days. The Stewards received a report from Mr Brendan Sheridan, Turf Club Clerk of the Course in relation to the fact that A.J. Martin, trainer brought a horse onto the track between races and had him ridden along the track where he proceeded to jump a hurdle. Evidence was heard from Mr Sheridan, Mr. Lorcan Wyer, Assistant Clerk of the Scales, Mr. Peter Roe, Track Manager, and A.J. Martin. Having considered the report, the Stewards forwarded a note to the CEO of the Turf Club for further consideration. Mr R. Dore, Chairman of the Acting Stewards, absented himself from this enquiry, and Mr. P.N. Reynolds acted as Chairman.
