The Pat Hughes trained Rossbeigh justified plenty of support before the off to give jockey Davy Russell another winner in his champion quest and he had three-and-a-half lengths in hand over Parknakyle in the 81-116 rated handicap hurdle.

Rated 14lbs higher now than when starting off on a good sequence of form, the six-year-old has shown that he may yet have a bit in hand of the handicapper as he held Parknakyle.

Parknakyle has still failed to open her account despite four placed efforts now but this was more encouraging than her first handicap appearance at Punchestown in January and surely her opening win is not too far away.

Darazari River had some strong form lines going into this contest but couldn't manage to land a serious blow here but she finished well and when she steps up in trip again we might see her at her very best.

The blinkered L'acajou was prominent throughout but failed to hold that spot and finished fourth at the death and Edward O'Grady's charge may be better suited by better ground.
