The early exit of warm favourite Offaly (8/11) changed the complexion here and made it an easier task for Prince Of Leisure.

The point-to-point recruit proved an impressive winner on his debut under rules, however, moving up to challenge three out and going clear before the next for a cosy success.

The Hushang gelding, twice a winner `between the flags' has suffered from leg problems but trainer David Broad said that he has a "serious engine" and hopes to aim him at some of the better staying handicap chases next season.

Flemensbarr cut out the running but had no more to offer when headed by Earl Of Kilcombe turning for home.

Earl Of Kilcombe's stint in front didn't last long as the winner swooped past and proved a different class.

Rodybolands was held up and made some progress six out. He was making no impression in a moderate fourth before the turn, however, and could only plug on into a poor third.
