Permission was given for Fanzio (FR) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
Prior to this race, Oliver Greenall was asked to explain why he had declared El Borracho (IRE) a non- runner at Lingfield today, on going described as Standard to Slow, but had declared the gelding to run at Kempton tomorrow on ground with the same official description.
Oliver Greenall and Oliver Greenall’s representatives were interviewed and the Stewards noted their explanation that they felt that Kempton would be better suited to El Borracho (IRE) as it had been reinstated and compacted which, in their opinion, would make it ride quicker compared to Lingfield, which had been harrowed deeper for today’s Jumpers' Bumpers meeting.
Following the race, Paul O'Brien reported that Fanzio (FR), unplaced, ran too free and the Veterinary Officer reported that Marlborough Sounds (GB), which started favourite and finished third, had lost both of its front shoes.
