A open looking contest and 20/1 shot Step It Up proved best when just piping perpetual runner-up Herotozero.

Gower had helped cut out the pace but had no more to offer close home after being headed inside the final furlong.

Fellow pacesetter Paris Sue faded away in the final furlong while Just For Mary arrived with every chance a furlong out but faded in the closing stages.
