STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 4) (Conditional Jockeys' Veterans' Chase Series Qualifier) The representative of Gary Hanmer was cautioned as High Counsel (IRE) had arrived in the Parade Ring wearing an undeclared tongue-strap which was removed before the gelding went to the start.
Following the race, Lorcan Murtagh reported that Creative Inerta (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and the representative of Ben Clarke added that the gelding was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Heavy on this occasion and in their opinion was riding tacky; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Creative Inerta (IRE) shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Militarian (GB), placed second, revealed the gelding finished lame on its right-hind.
