We were hopeful. He jumps well and just improved for the better ground, we thought that would help him today. We've no plan for him, we will bring him home and give him a rest. We will see then if there is something similar in three or four weeks. He is a good fun horse for the summer and he'll stay over fences for the moment, but he has won two over hurdles. He was running off 115 today and will probably get a bit of a hike so it'll be harder for him the next day. He won today anyway so we can't complain. Mrs Gillian Callaghan, trainer

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the late arrival of C. D. Maxwell forcing a substitution of rider on The Dasher Conway. Evidence was heard from the rider who explained that he left home in good time but met with extreme traffic which delayed his arrival. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted his explanation

S.D. Torrens, rider of Karen's Gift, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Karen's Gift, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (123 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
