Leaving the stalls the winner, Liberation Point (IRE), jumped slightly right-handed making brief contact with Brains (IRE), placed second, which in turn then lugged quickly right-handed into the path of Perfect Swiss (GB), placed third, which was eased when tightened for room, and in turn made contact with the hind-quarters of Sunset Salute (GB), placed fifth.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it did not improve the placing of the winner.
Following the race Silvestre De Sousa reported that Sunset Salute (GB), placed fifth stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
