Permission was given for Chetan (GB) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held into the possible faulty action of the starting stalls in this race.
The Starters and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
The Starter explained that when loading Cristal Pallas Cat (IRE), drawn 7, the gate inadvertently opened and being satisfied that it was not due to the actions of Cristal Pallas Cat (IRE), he was happy to re-load the gelding.
The Clerk of Course added that the starting stalls had been serviced this week and that they would be tested prior to the next race.
The Stewards noted their explanations.
The performance of Chetan (GB), which finished eighth, was considered.
Luke Morris reported that the gelding was never travelling.
Tony Carroll’s representative’s explanation that Chetan (GB) was unsuited by not being able to dominate on this occasion was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing of Chetan (GB), shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
