The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Fiscal Focus, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative reported that the horse disappointed on his last two starts and was subsequently given a break and freshened up. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
