Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Over To Sam (GB), which started second favourite, lost its confidence having run into the back of Golden Sunrise (IRE) upon landing after the eleventh fence and therefore pulled the gelding up shortly after; the Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that Over To Sam (GB) had bled from the nose and was struck into on its right-hind.
