Prior to this race, Gary Moore was asked to explain why he was running Mister Tickle (IRE) here at Fontwell on going described as Good to Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Fontwell on 14 September 2021 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that the going had changed during racing on the 14 September to Good to Soft and that he felt Mister Tickle (IRE) would be better suited to today’s surface.
An enquiry was held due to a Racecourse Photographer walking across the track behind the final fence before all runners had completed the course.
The Clerk of the Course and the photographer were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident and a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
