I'm looking forward to going over fences with him, and hopefully he'll jump them well. He seems to handle that ground although he's a bit big for summer ground. He's very headstrong and I'm not sure if that's because he was late being broken in or it's just in his breeding. The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of High Tail It, ridden by M.J. Bolger, and trained by Mrs John Harrington. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his instructions were to settle his mount to the rear of mid division before getting into the race and to do his best. He added that the horse ran green and jumped slowly at times before the penny dropped and he began to stay on well from the third last hurdle. He concluded by saying that the horse changed his legs on ground that may have been too quick. Mrs John Harrington, confirmed the instructions and expressed her satisfaction with the ride, bearing in mind it was the horses first run. She added that High Tail It is a chaser in the making who will benefit from a step up in trip as he matures. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that High Tail It was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that both trainer and rider were in breach of Rule 212,and having considered their records, Mrs. Harrington was fined ?1,000, M.J.Bolger was suspended for seven race days and ordered to forfeit his riding fee and High Tail It was suspended for fourty two days. B.J. Cooper, rider of Unic De Bersy (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped deliberately.
