Prior to this race, Oliver Greenall was asked to explain the reason why he was running Grand Coureur (FR) here at Bangor on going described as Heavy, having reported that the gelding would prefer less testing conditions following its run at Southwell on 15 November 2019, on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative explained that the heavy ground at Southwell had been holding in their opinion, and it was hoped that Grand Coureur (FR) would be better suited to the wetter heavy ground here today over the shorter trip of 2m 1f.
The performance of Little Stevie (GB), which finished sixth of six, was considered.
Stella Barclay’s representative explained that the gelding was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Heavy on this occasion, and would prefer a quicker surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of Little Stevie (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of Royal Act (GB), which started second favourite and finished fifth of six, was considered.
Sarah-Jayne Davies could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Yourholidayisover (IRE), placed third, finished lame on its left fore.
