FormscanBy Alan Magee - ASLUKWOODHAVIT made an impressive start over fences when reappearing at Punchestown last season but was let down by his jumping in three subsequent outings. Hopefully those errors have been ironed out and it’s encouraging that he’s run well fresh in the past. Lazer Wolf showed the benefit of a couple of outings over fences when scoring in good style over 2m2f at Clonmel last month. The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding had Kilashee and Silver King behind in third and fourth respectively and rates a greater threat than The Dara Man who overcame a lengthy absence when making all at Kilbeggan in August but hasn’t been seen again since.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.

He had a knock and was off for a while but we have a great mile and a half plough gallop at home, which is inside our point-to-point course, and we can get horses very fit,. We have a great bunch of horses getting ready for Listowel - Grange Walk, Mount Frisco and Lucid Dreams - and he was working with those, so I knew he was ready coming here. I thought he had a serious chance and Danny gave him an absolute peach of a ride.

I was a bit disappointed with him in Leopardstown at Christmas so we said we’d sit with him and wait a bit longer. He ran well at Punchestown and it’s lovely to see him go and do it here. He’s learning all the time and is a lovely big scopey horse. He should be good over a fence in time. We’ll aim for the Festivals here later on in the spring. I’m delighted to get that for Angus Potterton and the Molesworth Syndicate.

Shane Fitz is the only man to have won on her. He’s coming into me a few days a week and that’s his third winner for me this year. I’m delighted for him as he’s a great lad and it’s great to see him back riding winners. We’ll mix it between hurdles and fences with her and hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard on her.
