Gordon Elliott dominated the Thurles Racecourse Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle as Blow By Blow recaptured his sparkle in the Grade Three contest.< Not Many Left cut out the running but was stalked by Elliott's Gigginstown House Stud-owned trio of Roaring Bull Blow By Blow and Gun Digger nearing the end of the back straight.
Roaring Bull went on but Grade One-winning bumper performer Blow By Blow had him beaten by the time he came down at the last, and Blow By Blow (7-1) came home under his own steam in the hands of Rachael Blackmore to beat Gun Digger by 14 lengths.
Elliott doubled up when Sir Carno (5-2 favourite), also in the Gigginstown colours, took the Thurles Handicap Hurdle.< Jett justified 11-10 favouritism in the Thurles Racecourse Supporters Club Rated Chase.
A novice taking on more seasoned opponents, Jessica Harrington's charge made rapid headway to hit the front at the third-last and although Goulane Chosen tried to make a race of it, a mistake at the final fence put paid to his chance and Jett crossed the line with four and a quarter lengths in hand.< Youcantcallherthat gave weight and a beating to her rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Chase.
Denis Hogan's 12-1 shot had come up short in Grade Two and Listed company on her previous couple of outings, but showed her appreciation for having her sights lowered by seeing off Magic Of Light by six lengths, with Hogan also in the saddle.< Massey's Wood (100-30) broke through in the Killinan Maiden Hurdle.
Alan Fleming's charge found plenty for pressure when challenged by The Conditional and fended him off by a couple of lengths, with odds-on favourite Castlebrook only third.
Hogan supplemented Youcantcallherthat's triumph when the Patrick Mullins-ridden 2-1 favourite Moskovite took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Flat Race, while Sheila Ahern won the www.thurlesraces.ie (Ladies Pro/Am) Handicap Hurdle on Analyse That (8-1).
