< Black Hercules suffered a shock reversal in the Grade Two Ten Up Novice Chase as he crashed out at the final fence, handing victory to stablemate Measureofmydreams (12-1).
Everything appeared to be going to plan for the 4-11 market leader when he cruised to the front approaching the last but he met the fence all wrong, leaving his stablemate in the clear and able to record a five length success.
There was more drama in the Grade Two Flyinbolt Novice Chase as Sambremont (4-1) got up to deny Ttebbob in the shadows of the post, but not before Tell Us More had come down at the second last when seemingly having the race in safe keeping.
The full-brother to Djakadam appeared tapped for toe for much of the 2m1f contest but responded gamely when Tell Us More departed, steadily closing the gap on Ttebbob on the run-in before edging on to win by a length.< Snow Falcon was brought through with a perfectly-timed challenge to land the Grade Two Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle by two and three quarter lengths under Sean Flanagan.
Noel Meade's charge watched on for a long way as Gigginstown pair Dedigout and Lieutenant Colonel looked set to dominate but the 11-4 winner was always travelling strongly and despite having to wait for a run in the straight, he quickened up smartly once in the clear and sealed matters with a good jump at the last.
There was a little bit of a turn up in the opening Get Your 2016 Navan Membership Maiden Hurdle as Automated (11-4) easily reversed recent form with hot favourite Alamein to land the spoils by six lengths.< Nickname Exit (5-1) came out on top in the Davis Civil Engineering Handicap Hurdle while Admiral Brian (14-1) was an easy victor of the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.< Blow By Blow (2-7 fav) ran out a four length winner of the last, the Flower Hill Flat Race, handing Mullins a third winner on the afternoon.
