Eoin Doyle's admirably versatile campaigner The Fonze completed a hat-trick over the smaller obstacles by winning what looked a hot contest for the Adare Festival Weekend Hurdle at Limerick.< Roseska tried to lead all the way in the two-mile event, but she had three well-fancied contenders in Final Day New Phase and The Fonze breathing down her neck on the turn into the straight.
It was The Fonze (9-4) who proved the strongest, taking a marginal advantage at the final flight and staying on well for Shay Barry to beat Final Day by a length and a quarter, with Roseska third.< Rayhani four times a winner on the Flat when trained in England, broke his duck over jumps when stamping his authority on the Bet On-Course With Tote Maiden Hurdle.
The James Nash-trained gelding, well-backed into 6-4 favourite, took it up approaching the second-last flight under David Casey and drew clear to score by five lengths.
Andrew McNamara was stood down for five days for failing to weigh-in on runner-up Golden Grimshaw but he landed a double for Edward O'Grady, beginning when Armaramak (5-1) got home by three-quarters of a length in the 22nd July Twilight Racing Beginners Chase.< Manhattan Boy (5-2 joint-favourite) then took the www.thetote.com Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase, jumping the last two much better than rival Glacial Promise to score by three lengths.< Cruising Katie (8-1) lived up to her name when she ambled home in the Greenmount Annual Members Novice Chase.
With favourite Warcraft already beaten when he ended up on the deck, Pat Mangan eased Richard Cotter's mare to the front before the second-last and she was untroubled in winning by 10 lengths.
Paul Nolan's Seldom Fed (6-1) got up in the shadow of the post to deny long-time leader Melon Delta in the Patrickswell Vintage Rally Handicap Hurdle.
In-form handler Gordon Elliott dominated at Bellewstown with a Paul Carberry-ridden treble, including the feature Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha Handicap Hurdle on 2-1 favourite Grey Soldier who was hard driven to get up b
