Review leopardstown 30th May
Dermot Weld extended his excellent record in the Seamus & Rosemary McGrath Memorial Saval Beg Stakes when Profound Beauty (4-1) cruised to victory at Leopardstown.
Aidan O'Brien's Age Of Aquarius was sent off the red-hot 2-5 favourite to build on his promising reappearance run at Chester but after taking the lead half a mile from home, he merely set it up for the strong-travelling mare.
Profound Beauty, in receipt of 3lb for her main rival, edged ahead with a furlong to run and although the runner-up rallied, Pat Smullen was holding the aces and passed the post with a half a length to spare.
Six Of Hearts caused another minor upset when swooping late under Davy Moran to beat Duff in the Vodafone Ireland Foundation Supporters Gaisce Ballycorus Stakes.
Duff attempted to make all and saw off the challenge of market rival King Jock but Cecil Ross's 10-1 chance had other ideas, claiming a half-length victory.
Kevin Prendergast's Longhunter made an impressive racecourse debut in the Moyglare Grenzen EBF Maiden.
The son of Halling was not ideally draw in the widest of the nine stalls but Declan McDonogh positioned him well early on and was soon stalking long-time leader The Reaper
Longhunter skipped past inside the final furlong and he came home four lengths to the good over the staying-on Treasure Beach
Johnny Murtagh once again got a fine tune out of Charminamix (11-1) in the Grangecon Stud Handicap.
Murtagh rode the Will McCreery inmate to victory at Dundalk earlier in the month and the grey defied his 5lb higher mark with a one and a quarter-length success over Lord Kenmare < Elyaadi (7-1) took the Craobh-Chomortas Na Marcach Flat v Jump Jockeys Challenge Handicap under Gary Carroll, while Alan Cawley guided 9-2 favourite Sandymount Lady to victory in the Derrinstown Stud Gaisce Flat v Jump Jockeys Challenge Handicap.
