Review kilbeggan 8th Sep
< Jaime Sommers doubled her career tally with an impressive triumph in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Without a win since her jumping bow here back in May of last year, Michael Bowe's mare looked up against it when anchored out the back by Cathal Landers.
Her rider didn't panic and Jaime Sommers (7-1) took off after the third-last, passing horses as if they were standing still, and she took it up shortly after the next before coasting home by a deceptively-easy length and three-quarters from Sir Abbot
The money came for Rosie Alice just before the start of the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan Beginners Chase and she didn't disappoint.
Backed down to 5-2 favouritism, Charles Byrnes' mare travelled sweetly for Donal McInerney and cruised to the front at the last before keeping Penny Jane two and three-quarter lengths at bay.
Byrnes and McInerney followed up courtesy of Rock On Fruity in the Like Kilbeggan On Facebook Handicap Chase.
The 8-1 shot was given a patient ride and headed Net D'Ecosse after the last before stretching five and a half lengths clear.< Kilkeaskins First benefited from a positive Luke Dempsey ride in the Denis & Eithne Coyne Memorial Race Handicap Hurdle.
The 7-1 chance led from the off and after establishing a significant advantage down the back, never looked like being caught and passed the post with nine lengths in hand of Sierra Law
Warm favourite Chateauneuf Du Pap had every chance in the Summer Party Pack Discount Group Booking Opportunity Maiden Hurdle but after jumping the last in a share of the lead, he was outfought by 3-1 chance The Brassmoulder < Sharps Choice (11-4) ended a frustrating run of defeats in the Pat Doyle Memorial Maiden Hurdle, while Peacocks Secret took the September 8th Celebration Race Meeting (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
