Vastonea (grey) narrowly beat Miracle Cure (centre) and Regulation at Gowran

Kevin Prendergast's Vastonea finished with a wet sail to land the most valuable race on the Gowran Park card, the Breeze Up At Gowran Park May 23rd Handicap.< Regulation cut out most of the running and was still in front at the furlong pole, though Miracle Cure had worked upsides.
Vastonea (9-2) came from further back but finished well under Sam James, getting up in the shadow of the post to win by a head from Miracle Cure.< Captain's Affair produced a 33-1 shock when prevailing in a thrilling finish to the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
The writing looked on the wall for John Murphy's charge when he was headed by Freedom Square turning for home, but he battled back up the far rail and had just enough in the tank to score by short head over the fast finishing Zakhm < Akira showed the benefit of a previous outing here 10 days ago when striding clear in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden for older horses.
Though the race lost a lot of its appeal after Aidan O'Brien's Hanky Panky was withdrawn due to the ground, there was a lot to like about Akira (13-2), who pulled four and three-quarter lengths clear of Tropical Mist at the line.< Kanes Pass shrugged off an absence of 200 days to land the Gowran Park Golf Club Handicap.
The 9-1 chance was virtually friendless in the market on the track, but picked up very takingly for Shane Kelly to beat Lord Jim by a length and a quarter.
Fran Berry galvanised Paynes Find (9-2) to get up on the line and deny Blistering Dancer by a short head in the Ladies Day 23rd June At Gowran Park Handicap.
Katherine O'Brien landed the spoils in the Like Us On Facebook Apprentice Handicap when guiding Pepparpot (10-1) to victory.
