Review dundalk 9th Feb
< Rock On Dandy proved his stamina for two miles with victory in the ASM Chartered Accountants Race at Dundalk.
Fergal Birrane's grey wasn't particularly well suited by conditions of the race and was having his first try at a trip in excess of a mile and a half, so it was no surprise that Denis Linehan anchored him at the back.
He crept into contention on the outside before swooping to the front inside the final furlong, and Linehan didn't have to break too much of a sweat to get the 100-30 shot home two and a quarter lengths ahead of Zaofu
The ever-reliable War Hero justified 4-5 favouritism in the Shabra Charity Race.
Ronan Whelan kept it simple on Patrick Prendergast's colt and when pressed by Boragh Steps he had plenty more to give and stretched a length and three-quarters away again.< Highly Approved continued on her upward curve by breaking through in the Dundalk Stadium Business Club 2018 Maiden.
Second in a Chelmsford handicap on her previous outing, the Joseph O'Brien-trained 11-2 chance hit the front a furlong from home and ran right the way to the line to see off Luna's Luck by three-quarters of a length.< Nivvo was sent off the 8-11 favourite for the Celtic Adventures Fillies Maiden and didn't give her supporters too many worries.
Pat Smullen kicked for home over two furlongs out and although Cavelli gave chase, she could never really get close to challenge and fell three-quarters of a length short.< Red Avenger looked the likely winner of the alska Swedish Cider Handicap a furlong out, only for long-time leader Carried to rally, but both were collared in the closing stages by Reckless Lad (100-30).
Pat Martin and Killian Leonard doubled up thanks to Easy Boy (15-2) in the Visitcarlingford.com Handicap, while Storm Ryker (9-2) took the Hibernia Steel Apprentice Handicap in the hands of Ross Coakley.
