Zoinnocent came on from her promising debut at the Curragh to win at the second time of asking in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Gowran Park.
Shane Crosse had the Joseph O'Brien trained filly out smartly, as she tracked the leaders in the early part of the race.
Making his move turning into the straight, Crosse gave his mount every chance to learn, as he held her together. It always just looked a case of getting to those in front but today was all about teaching the filly how to do things right.
The daughter of Zoffany still displayed signs of greenness when eventually getting to the lead, taking time to put the race to bed. She should improve further with the benefit of this experience and stepping up in trip.
Her full brother Hannibal Barca recently won the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh.
Joseph O’Brien’s assistant Brendan Powell said, “She’s a lovely filly. She was a little bit slowly away again today, not as slow as the Curragh.
“Once she got into that stride of hers he said she showed a lot of boot in the straight. She ran around a bit and is still green but she’s a big filly and is going to make a three-year-old.
“She’s still a frame at the moment but I think she will be very good when she fills out. There should be no bother getting black type with her.
“She has a great attitude - a lovely relaxed filly.”
