Wings makes return in Polonia Stakes

Gossamer Wings is one of two contenders for Aidan O’Brien in the Goffs Irish EBF Polonia Stakes at Cork on Friday.
The three-year-old was beaten just a short head in last year’s Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot and while she failed to score in four starts after that fine effort, Gossamer Wings is the pick on the ratings.
O’Brien also fields Fantasy in the extended five-furlong Listed heat, although she was well beaten on her return to action last month.
Joseph O’Brien also fields two in Cava and Rainbow Moonstone while Willie McCreery’s Lethal Promise is another for the shortlist having won at Listed level last term. Angelic Light is another can be expected to go well for Michael O’Callaghan with a run under her belt this season.
Archie Watson ’s British raider Shumookhi adds an extra element to a strong 14-runner field. South Sea Pearl an 800,000 guineas purchase in 2017, makes her racecourse debut for O’Brien in the O’Flynn Group Fillies’ Maiden, in which Dermot Weld fields Search For A Song and Switch Around
Derby entry Barbados is one of two for O’Brien in the Coolmore Ruler Of The World Irish EBF Maiden, with the full-brother to Maybe joined by the equally well-bred Fresno This Galileo colt is out of top-class mare Moonlight Cloud.
