Treacysenniscorthy proved game in front to claim the spoils in the three-miler handicap hurdle at Punchestown for Robert Widger.
The Beneficial gelding took them along under Kevin Brouder and travelled well at the head of affairs turning for home.
The well backed 4/1 favourite (from 6/1) was a bit sticky at the last and was soon pressed but responded well in the closing stages.
He asserted again close home to record a length-and-three-quarters success over Walking On Glass
Widger said:- “We were hoping to get a lead but the way it worked out he was just lobbing away in front and it worked out ideal.
“He stayed at it well and I thought he might be well handicapped over hurdles compared to what he could be over fences.
“He might go back over fences now. There is a novice chase back here on Tuesday week that he could go for or at Thurles two days after.”
