As De Pique continued his profitable summer for connections when landing his third handicap chase in as many months, by landing the Saltees Islands Handicap Chase at Wexford today.
The ten year old son of Woods Of Windsor has proven a late developer and having won his point-to-point just last year, today followed up wins at Down Royal (May) and Punchestown (June) today for trainer Gavin Cromwell and regular rider Brien Kane.
Following today's easy ten lengths win, Cromwell stated "hopefully he'll go to the Galway Blazers now and that he should get in - he probably wouldn't have got in off 102 (today's mark).
"He won a point-to-point on soft ground and he got away with it there but summer soft would be fine for him. The blinkers sharpened him and that's the first time he wore them."
