Currently involved in a titanic tussle to be top jockey in the point-to-point sphere, Grade 1 winning amateur Jamie Codd was back among the winners under Rules on Gordon Elliott's Bell Walks Day (12/1) in the Supermacs Ballinrobe & Claremorris Mares Flat Race at Ballinrobe.
The Robert O'Callaghan owned and bred full-sister to Time For Rupert was never far away.
However her number looked to be up when headed by the well-fancied newcomer Hello Sweetie (25s in the morning into 8s).
The Stewards had fined that one's trainer Pat Collins 350 Euros for lodging a passport in respect of the Westerner newcomer, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
In the end though Bell Walks Day (first time tongue strap on) fought back to lead again inside the final furlong and triumph by half a length.
Elliott said: "She's got a good pedigree and she's a sister to Time For Rupert. I'd say she wants two and a half miles and she might go jumping a hurdle. They'll probably breed from her then." (DM & EM)
