Backed from 9/2 into 5/2 favouritism in the minutes before the off, Flemings Dream land the punt in style in the Mullingar Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Ray Cody ’s mare got a patient steer from Rachael Blackmore and she was noted moving up travelling stylishly on the outer before the second last.
Owned by Rose Boyd, the well-related Flemensfirth five-year-old went on from before the straight before having a bit of a look going to the last.
Powering away on the rail up the run-in Flemings Dream beat 100/1 shot Raleagh Flora by fifteen lengths with second market choice Shannon Fields half a length back in third.
Rachael Blackmore said afterwards: “She’s done it really nicely. She’s a lovely mare and Ray thinks a lot of her.
“She’d a lovely run the last day in Roscommon. She was quite green that day and still a bit green today. She’s going the right way.
“She stays well and handled the ground perfect.”
Shane O'Callaghan had to go to hospital in Tullamore for an x-ray after a fall from Rian Thomas two out.
