Treasure The Ridge became Dermot Weld's seventh winner of the week at Ballybrit as Pat Smullen (6th victor) brought home another well-backed winner in the shape of Treasure The Ridge (3/1 into 11/4) in the IRFU Charitable Trust Handicap.
The Galileo gelding didn't let the burden of ten stone stop him, leading a furlong out before going on to see off Greenbelt Star (came home well for second) with Idlewild in third.
"He did it well and Pat gave him a lovely ride. He had a lot of weight but he's a good horse.
"I'm thrilled for the owner/breeder Sean Coughlan and his wife Anne who are here to see it.
"He's a very adaptable horse and I'm very pleased to have had two lovely winners today (won the Listed race earlier with Yellow Rosebud .
"Plans are fluid going forward with the way conditions are though," commented Weld afterwards. (TW & EM)
